The US recently introduced legislation requiring all marriage agencies who wished to have clients approved during the US visa immigration process to collect from male clients certain items of information and to run a sexual offenders criminal records background check via the www.nsopr.org National Sex Offender Public Registry website. These details are to be provided to the lady the client wishes to contact, BEFORE the agency is allowed to provide the client with the ladies direct contact details or provide any correspondence services. In order to be compliant with this US law and to ensure there are no problems with ladies who meet US clients and wish to apply for fiancee or spouse visa.
It's important that as a US citizen you comply with the IMBRA requirements. The US embassies are now asking for this information when the ladies are applying for a US visa. Failure to demonstrate that the lady has been fully informed of any relevant criminal background may lead to refusal of a visa.
Due to the above we cannot supply US citizens at the moment with ladies contact details until they prove that they are ‘IMBRA’ compliant.
